How long does it take to calculate the quotation for PCBA manufacturing?

Question: Under normal circumstances, how long it will take for the quotation of PCBA processing? 

Answer: we need to start from which procedures are included in PCBA manufacturing.

 
Perhaps everyone knows that PCBA is a general name for PCB Assembly in China. It includes three parts (PCB circuit board fabricating, components purchasing, SMT soldering), then the quotation of PCBA must be determined by these three parts.

1. PCB board section: 

PCB board Gerber file and board description documents were required for the quotation of PCB. If the information is completely provided, then PCB manufacturer will sort out all the information, they will see how much is the special process need to be charged separately, and plus other miscellaneous fees, basically a complete set of PCB price quotation can be quoted within 2 hours. If there are a lot of other quotations waiting in front of the queue, it's a different matter.

2. SMT assembly section: 

This section is mainly a calculation of assembly fees. Generally PCBA factory counts assembly cost according to the soldering points on PCB. Some factories calculate one component as a point, and some factories calculate one pin of components as a point, which is the biggest trick here. There are at least 2 pins for each component. If one component is counted as one point, perhaps the single point assembly price will be higher than that of one pin is counted as one point. 

After all, there are fewer points if one component is counted as one point, and no one would like to make loss-making business. So don't look at a point gets more expensive cost and thus give up evaluating it. The evaluation of this section can actually be done within one hour.

3. Component section: 

Components include conventional resistance and capacitance chip and special devices. The current market for conventional components is transparent, and it is easier to evaluate the price, but some special IC will be relatively troublesome, such as the Huawei incident that has been raging in the past two years, and many special components will involve the following situations: international embargoes, strict examination and approval procedures, long customs clearance time, and unstable prices. Therefore, the quotation cycle is generally 3 to 4 days.

Basically, after the above analysis, we will find that the quotation of PCBA takes several working days. Unless it is a PCBA company with its own stock materials that can evaluate it in a very short time, while other PCBA companies quote fast only on PCB and SMT chip placement. There are also some situations, such as the quantity of the orders is large, the quotation list schedule is very tight, we must quote for the customer who comes first, after all, customers are treated equally.
