Due to the complicated status of PCB board design industry today, requirements of CAD design on PCB board designer have been completely different; to face these challenges, CAD engineers should have the following skills:
1. At least proficient in one high-end EDA tools PCB board, proficiency in another design tool, while for the other EDA design tools should have sufficient understanding, this is the only way to have the advantage of a variety of tools to compare. Taking a company, for example, for ALLEGRO all employees must master the software, other software like POWERPCB, MENTOR, PROTEL have the appropriate team to use it;
2. Posses a solid hardware development experience, a thorough understanding of the electronics product. Should go through a professional training and have a solid foundation of experience in hardware development, regardless of the bigger picture of the PCB board, or the details of the matching, filtering, protective treatment, has a comprehensive grasp of a science and technology in this area.
3. Is a technology expert who understands the processing of products, be clear with the existing production process line to board design capacity constraints, the restrictions on the SMT.
4. PCB board production knowledge and familiar PCB board production process, to avoid too many engineering questions from PCB manufacturer, such as processing accuracy for drilling and milling, line width, line spacing, etc., to choose the appropriate manufacturer to but PCB at reasonable price.
5. Should be a SI / PI expert, know about impedance, layout, timing, signal loss, the power supply constraints of the PCB board design.
6. Should be a EMC expert, fully understand the board level, system level EMC problems of the potential threats, as well as its relationship with the SI, the PCB board design to overcome this difficulty.
