Soldering is one of the most fundamental skills needed to dabble in the world of electronics, and soldering Circuit board is a basic skill for electronic engineers. Although it is possible to learn about and build electronics without needing to pick up a soldering iron, you'll soon discover that a whole new world is opened with this one simple skill. We believe that soldering should be a skill in everyone's arsenal. In a world of increasing technological surroundings, it is important that people everywhere be able to not only understand the technologies they use everyday but also be able to build, alter, and fix them as well. Soldering is one of many skills that will empower you to do just that.
Start by lightly scrubbing the board surface with a typewriter eraser to clean the copper until it's bright and shiny. Like any electrical connection, use only 60-40 rosin-core solder, preferably in a gauge close to the size of the lead you're attaching. Insert the wire or component leads into the board from the rear, and bend them over enough to keep the component from falling out.
Lightly touch the tinned soldering guy to the copper trace and the lead at the same instant. A couple of seconds later, touch the lead with the end of the solder, adding just enough solder to make a puddle, but not enough to make a fat blister. The solder needs to wet the lead and the copper trace.
Quickly withdraw the soldering iron and the solder. Don't disturb the board until well after the solder has cooled enough to freeze, which should only be a few seconds if you've used the appropriate amount of heat.
Before you start soldering, you should know that you need to prepare some necessary tools:
1. Solder iron, there are lots of choice in the market, it is recommended to use a soldering iron with appropriate thermal control.
2. Solder wire of an appropriate alloy. Suggest Lead-free Tin wire , you can choose the wire thickness basing on your components, 0.8mm or 1.00mm is normal to use , and also you need consider tin wire is a clean type or no-clean flux.
3. If possible, get flux-cored wire
Flux is an additive in solder that facilitates the soldering process by removing and preventing oxidation and by improving the wetting characteristics of the liquid solder. There are different types of flux cores available for solder wire.
4. Buy clamp to hold the components
When you prepare all those, then you can start Soldering Circuit Boards, let's try it.
