It is said that there are more than 500 PCB enterprises located in Shenzhen, and most of them are small and medium companies. But in recent two years, the increasing environment standard makes it harder for the PCB factories to remain in Shenzhen. it said that about 80% of PCB enterprises are moving out or preparing to relocate.
In 2007, it has sparked widespread concern when many companies which located in Shenzhen moved out of Shenzhen. However, at present, it is said that 80% of PCB companies in Shenzhen are planning to move out, some them will still locate their headquarters in Shenzhen, tending to relocate in other potential places, according to Shenzhen PCB Industry Association. Compared with the last enterprise migration, the purpose of the relocation of Shenzhen PCB companies is for the expansion of production capacity. And the main reason of Shenzhen PCB manufacturers' migration is the improvement of environment standard in Shenzhen.
Electronic information industry is the main industry of Shenzhen, which accounts for more than 90% of the total output value of high-tech products. And PCB is the basement of assembling electronic components, which is regarded as the mother of electronic product and plays an essential role in information industrial chains.
As one of the traditional manufacturing industry, PCB industry is also facing a lot of obstacles, including the lack of core technology, low value added products, companies are of various sizes, and problems related to land, electricity, financing and the rising of rent and salaries.
The main destinations of those PCB enterprises are Jiangxi, Chongqing and Chengdu. Choosing Jiangxi as a new location is because of the geographical advantage of Pan-Pearl River Delta. And selecting Chongqing and Chengdu is due to their fast development of electronic information. Some of Shenzhen PCB manufacturers' clients move there, so the PCB companies follow the trend. Besides, the relatively low environment standard is another reason that attracts Shenzhen's PCB manufacturers.
