June 29, 2015, Illinois Bannockburn - IPC - Association Of Connecting Electronics Industries ® released "Statistical Report of PCB industry research in North America of May 2015". The report shows that sales amount are down slightly but orders quantity rose.
Of total PCB shipments in North America in May 2015, compared to May 2014, down 4.2%; down to -1.8% as for YTD shipments. Compared with the previous month, PCB total shipments fell 3.5%.
PCB orders in May, raise 10.4 percent, resulting in orders so far this year rose 1.3 percent; orders compared with the previous month, has increase of 0.9%.
Ms. Sharon Starr, the director of IPC market research, said: "Sales of North American PCB industry still weaker than last year, but orders have resumed healthy growth, Book-to-Bill Ratio has been maintained at a healthy area for latest eight months, these indicators suggest that the second half sales of 2015 are expected to be strong".
