LED industry promotion in Guangdong province

Lighting the economy to pick up further confirmation. Policy, governments around the clear LED lighting outreach program, is expected to be 13 years, Guangdong LED lights installed capacity will increase to 1.1 million, as benefited form its huge Aluminum and Fiber glass PCB industry scale, together with close distance to other raw material bases.

From the demand point of view, the international lighting giant has introduced a low-cost LED lighting products to replace 40W and 60W incandescent, the market reacted positively, help to accelerate the increase in the penetration rate of LED lighting

It is said that LED lighting can save more than 90% of electricity in comparison with incandescent lamp and LED lighting can save at least 50% of energy compared with high pressure sodium lamp (HPSL). Thus, LED lighting will become an important product in energy saving, emission reduction and in the lighting industry in the future.

More than 600,000 units of LED street lamps will light up the sky of the metropolitan areas of the Pearl River Delta in the next two years. According to the planning, next year will be the starting year for LED lighting to enter the field of indoor illumination. By 2015, LED lighting will account for 30% of the indoor illumination in Guangdong Province. The whole province already has about 200,000 units of LED lamps at present.

As the nation still has no relative standard in this field, the Provincial Science and Technology Department is planning to take the initial action to establish a system of LED lighting so as to ensure the quality. From next year on, it will set up the experimental units among enterprises and public institutions by help of financial allocation and then gradually promote the LED lighting to the public. The Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province has considered subsidizing the institutional investors of LED lighting so that LED lamps can be introduced to civilians in a fast speed.
