For PCB designers and Cam engineers, conservation is mostly concern PCB manufacturing time, cost and even effort. SysPCB Shenzhen China PCB manufacturer strives to provide customers high-quality PCBs and excellent service. This includes best practice tips. When designing your next PCB, watch out for these four crucial cost drivers:

Number of Layers:

More layers typically means higher cost. An additional two layers will increase costs by at least 20% from material and lamination. To reduce layer count, use HDI (high density interconnect) for complex PCB is recommended.

Trace/Space:

The tighter your trace/space, the more difficult it will be to reliably etch your traces and pads. Take into consideration whether a wire bonding or HDI design will be more cost-effective in the long run. We can manufacture min. 3mil/3mil line/space PCB.

PCB holes

Hole Size:

Smaller mechanical hole sizes are more difficult to manufacture. They also require smaller drill bits, which cost more. For drill bits less than 0.3mm, the other factor is the smaller drill bit is, the more expensive.
Standard Drill Bit Size: 8 mils
Advanced Drill Bit Size: 5 mils
R&D Drill Bit Size: < 5 mils

Drill To Copper:

Drill to copper is exactly that: the distance from the edge of the drilled hole to the copper feature (pad, pour, trace, etc). Min. is 3mil, the bigger, the easy to manufacture, the short ratio is also lower.
