Supported by orders from major China-based brands like Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei, and TCL, the local PCB industry has made substantial progress, including the production of high-end HDI boards and preparations to enter the IC substrate sector. The expansion has led to industry consolidation, pushing some small-scale manufacturers out of the market. Meanwhile, Taiwan-based PCB makers, such as GBM, Compeq Manufacturing, and TPT, have maintained stable operations by relocating their production bases to Western China. The increasing competitiveness of China-based PCB makers in the HDI segment poses a challenge to Taiwanese suppliers.
