Long-time storage components may cause cold soldering during SMT

Cold soldering is a common circuit failure in PCBA product. There are two reasons for the cold soldering. One is improper process setting during the SMT process, the other is that the electronic components themselves are defective. 

In the recent production of PCBA for customers by SYS Technology, a customer's board appeared a wide range of cold soldering. After the customer's board was assembled, SysPCB's QC detected a large range of cold soldering of components, and almost appeared at the same component. After investigation of PCB and components and communication with the customer, it was learned that the cause of the cold welding was because the part sent by the customer was a long-time stocked material. This material can not be completely welded to the PCB due to the long-time storage in the insufficient storage environment, component were affected with damp. 

After communicating with customer, SYS Technology re-processed this batch of boards for customer. It has always been the purpose of SYS Technology to solve problems for customers.
